Mr. Barnard began his career as a systems troubleshooter, the person you call to “fix it” when something is broke. For the last thirty years he has worked as a technical consultant* teaching large system troubleshooting techniques to a variety of clients.
His search for a root cause and the solutions to America’s problems started in the late 60s. A professor at Louisiana State University casually remarked in one of his lectures that many social and economic problems could be analyzed and solved with the same tools and techniques used to solve industrial problems. That comment launched a hobby that became a crusade, driven by the challenge to just do it.
*Technical Consultant: A degreed, licensed, or self-appointed out-of-town Professional who knows little or nothing about a Client’s business and who charges exorbitant fees to answer questions the Client never asked with information the Client already had.
